Coronation of King Charles
As a Parish, St Antony’s are happy to extend our best wishes and prayers to King Charles at the occasion of his coronation. May his reign be blessed by God with peace and national unity. May he defend the faith and promote religious liberty. May he follow in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth II, his mother, whom we remember with affection and gratitude. Long live the King.
Our First Reading this week is from Acts of the Apostles 6:1-7: The early Christian community chooses seven people to serve at table so that the Twelve can devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word.
The Responsorial Psalm is from Psalm 33: The Lord is merciful toward those who trust in him. Today’s Second Reading is 1 Peter 2:4-9: Those who have faith are chosen in Christ to be a holy priesthood. Our Gospel Reading this Sunday is John 14:1–12: Jesus tells his disciples, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”
40 Hour Adoration – Corpus Christi WE
Dear friends, this year for the WE of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi we will be having a 40-hour adoration to honour and worship the Eucharistic presence of Our Lord. I invite you and encourage you all to do an hour (or more!) with the Lord (Matthew 26:40) in the build-up to the celebration of the Body and Blood of Christ on Sunday June 11th
.The 40-hour adoration will begin on Friday June 9th after the 9:30pm mass. We will need volunteers to come and spend time in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament especially on the Friday and Saturday nights.
All night Adoration in June (change of date)
In June, the 1st Friday Mass will take place on the 2nd Friday, June 9th.
Newham Catholic Deanery Annual Deanery Cup
The Newham Catholic Deanery Annual Deanery Cup will take place this year on June 3rd at St Helen’s School Canning Town form 10am to 4pm. Under 12 Boys and Under 12 girls will compete.
Trials for this team will take place on May 13th from 11:30am-1:30pm, Capel
Road, Forest Gate E70JP
