Fourth Sunday of Advent

First Reading – 2 Samuel 7:1-16: The Lord promises David that he will raise from his descendants a kingdom that will endure forever.
Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 89: A prayer of praise to the Lord for his faithfulness to his covenant.
Second Reading – Romans 16:25-27: Paul praises God for making his revelation known.
Gospel Reading – Luke 1:26-38: The angel Gabriel visits Mary to announce the birth of Jesus.

The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas) Mass at Midnight

First Reading – Isaiah 9:1-6: To those in darkness, a child will be born who will have dominion over the earth.
Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 96: Sing a new song to the Lord.
Second Reading – Titus 2:11-14: God has appeared, bringing salvation to all.
Gospel Reading – Luke 2:1-14: Jesus is born in a manger in Bethlehem as the angel appears to the shepherds.

The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas) Mass During the Day

First Reading – Isaiah 52:7-10: God’s salvation is announced to the world.
Responsorial Psalm- Psalm 98:1-6: A prayer of praise for God’s salvation.
Second Reading – Hebrews 1:1-6: God now speaks to us through his Son.
Gospel Reading – John 1:1-18: John announces that in Jesus, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Feast of St John – Wednesday December 27th

Dear friends, as every year, on December 27 we the brothers celebrate the patron saint of our religious community, St John the Beloved. Join us in prayer that day for

Mass at 11:30am followed by a bite to eat up in St Clare’s Hall.
