Our First Reading this Sunday is taken from Genesis 3:9–15: Adam and Eve eat the fruit of the forbidden tree.
The Responsorial Psalm is from Psalm 130: Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.
This week’s Second Reading is 2 Corinthians 4:13—5:1: We believe and so we speak.
This Sunday’s Gospel Reading is from Mark 3:20–35: Whoever does the will of God is brother and sister and mother to me.
Overall Theme: The readings for the Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time underscore the conflict between good and evil, between the Lord God and sin, with our ultimate hope resting in Jesus, who crushes the head of the serpent.

Fr John’s Sabbatical
Dear friends, this coming Thursday, St Antony’s day, will be my last day in the
parish before I leave for my time of sabbatical.
I would like to thank you all for your encouragement and kindness over the last few
weeks in wishing me a blessed time of sabbatical. St Antony’s has been my home for
the last almost 12 years now and St Antony’s will always be home to me.
So, as I leave for this time of rest and renewal, it’s with a heavy heart that I say
goodbye but I know it’s only for a short time, a year will pass quickly and very soon I
hope to be in your midst once again with renewed energy and strength.
I asked for this Sabbatical time after I had decided to continue as parish priest of
St Antony’s. So, this time is a going away to come back stronger and to serve the
parish to the best of my abilities in the coming years.
I will miss each and every one of you and I hope to greet you all on St Antony’s Day
before I leave and I ask for your prayers during this year ahead.
As you know Father Arnold (with the support of the brothers) will be stand in
parish priest in my absence. Fr Arnold has worked so hard for the renovation project
of St Antony’s church and will continue to work tirelessly this year to serve you all.
So please continue to give him and all the brothers here at St Antony’s,
your prayers, support and love.
