Posada Celebration and blessing of the 'moving' crib - Friday 16th December, 7.30pm

Dear friends, on Friday 16th at 7:30pm, we will be celebrating a beautiful Mexican tradition of following the footsteps of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem called the Posada. This celebration re-enacts the journey of Mary and Joseph, their rejection at some doors and finally finding a place to welcome the child Jesus into the world. The journey will take us outside the Church initially and finish in St Francis Hall with a warm drink, some food and the singing of Christmas Carols together. Registration for Confirmation in 2023

Applications are now being accepted for teenagers who wish to receive the sacrament of Confirmation at the parish in 2023. The application form is available at this link:https://forms.gle/iTFvgJ5J8tABTTBY6 Candidates must have a date of birth between 29th May 2005 and 28th May 2009. Please note, you must have the applicant’s baptismal certificate ready to upload as part of the application process. The deposit payment of £80 will be due in January at the first parents’ meeting. Homeless Shelter 2023 - meeting 6 December, 6.30pm

Dear friends, this winter, starting on Saturday January 14th we will be once again hosting the night shelter for the homeless in our parish. Once a week, every Saturday night, we will be welcoming about 15 men/women to stay for the night, offer them a supper and then breakfast. For this to happen we need a lot of generous hearts and hands. We need to sit down and take stock and plan for this new season. In view of this we will be having a meeting on Tuesday December 6th at 6:30pm......

We are starting a pin-board where parishioners can attach photos of their loved ones and deceased family members, so we can pray for them. You may include the name of your loved one, and their dates if deceased. Please bring photos smaller than a postcard size. You can attach them yourself to the pinboard by St Antony’s altar. Over sized pictures will be removed. Please do not remove other people’s photos. Photos will be removed periodically as the board fills up....

The relics of St Bernadette come to Brentwood & Wanstead, 16-19 October

Bishop Alan Williams has recorded a video inviting all to come and pray with the relics of St Bernadette at the Cathedral on Sunday 16th/Monday 17th October or at Our Lady of Lourdes, Wanstead on 18th/19th October. He will celebrate Mass at 11.30am on 16th at Brentwood Cathedral and at 7.30pm on 18th at Wanstead. There will be a youth Mass at 6.30pm on Sunday 16th in Brentwood Cathedral. Our Bible Study begins again this Sunday 18th September at 2pm, via Zoom
